Canberra Flower Preservation Policy

Please know the highest care is taken in processing your flowers however, we can only do our best with the condition the flowers arrive in, there is no magic here! It is not guaranteed that the colour and tone of your bouquet will be the same after the drying process. FLOWERS WILL CHANGE COLOUR.

Not all flowers dry well. Some flowers will not survive the drying process however we will always use the best flowers out of the bouquet.

Florists may use wire or spray/dye your flowers. This damages the flowers and can cause bleeding of the pigment in the resin. We take no responsibility for this and reserve the right to not use the flower if it looks like it will compromise the quality of the preservation. Wiring flowers kills the flower and makes our job very hard. Please ask your florist to reframe from using wire.

The artist will only dry the flowers required for the order if the artist deems left over flowers suitable, you will be contacted with the option to preserve them. We do not store or keep the remaining flowers as we do not have the capacity and will not give back your flowers at the completion of your order. If you would like more of your flowers preserved please contact us about upgrading.

Through the preserving process, some flowers will come out darker or fade in colour. If the blooms arrive bruised, petals can have translucent marks appear in the resin particularly orchids and roses.

As every item is handmade there will be imperfections. These may include - air bubbles, change of colour, lines where layers have been poured or tiny particles that may have come loose in the resin. Although every effort is made to make the perfect piece, we believe all these imperfections natural and artistic make for a unique and beautiful piece of art.

The design of each piece is at the discretion of the artist and dependant on the thickness of the mould and the flowers. Indicating in “notes” a preference of layout, colour or flowers used at the time of ordering will be taken into account. There will be no design approvals, please trust the artists abilities and artistic style. There is also a box to check if you would like gold flakes in your preservation, we usually include a subtle dusting of gold flakes.

Please note some large/ thick flowers can only be encapsulated in large block moulds. These large flowers are usually proteas, large peonies and chunky natives. If you are set on using these flowers, please get in touch and we can discuss if it’s doable.

The products displayed are examples of what is possible, it is not guaranteed that your flowers will look the same as every flower is unique and behaves differently in resin.

Canberra Flower Preservation cannot take responsibility for what happens to your product after you have received it (refer to resin care).

If the artist thinks your bouquet would be better displayed in a different or larger cast, you will be contacted to ensure you are getting the best out of your bouquet keepsake!

Working with resin is weather and conditions dependent, hot, cold and humid days greatly affect the ability to work. Resin is temperamental and needs the right conditions or it can burn your flowers or create issues. Please keep this in mind as I cannot guarantee a timeframe of when your order will be ready. The prescribed time frame is a guide only and I do my best to reach it.

CFP use UV protected resin, however, ALL resin still yellows over time. This is apart of its beauty. To minimize this, keep away from sunlight, heat and moisture this will also delay the pretty petals from fading.

Flower preservation is an interpretation of your bouquet, not a recreation. Flower preservation artists are not florists and the art piece will not look the same as the bouquet for the reasons stated above.

By making a booking with us you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

Delivering Your Flowers

We are now open to receiving bouquets by mail, from interstate. If you need to ship your flowers to our studio, please contact us for a method suitable for your blooms.

It is recommended to ship immediately after the occasion and drop off your fresh blooms within a few days of the occasion to the address provided after placing your order. So, it is necessary to plan ahead. However if it is a last minute order, send us an email to check our availability. We can also pick up your flowers for an extra fee (see shop - services - pick up and book your time slot)

Pre air dried flowers can also be used. So, if you have a bouquet hanging out in your house collecting dust, they can be preserved into a keepsake. The oldest bouquet I have received was 28 years old, it’s never too late!

Pre dried flowers are easily shipped though Auspost in a box with proper protective packing to prevent crushing and moving around in transit.

I will organise an appropriate time for drop off with you. Please arrive at the agreed time, I will allow 15 minutes if you are running late, however if you are considerably late, I will have to reschedule a time with you. Please respect my time as I am usually in the middle of pouring resin orders or need to run errands.

*Please take good care of your blooms so they arrive in good condition for preserving. Keep them in water to hydrate, avoid rough treatment, throwing the bouquet around etc. Flowers are delicate and will bruise. I want you to have the best possible chance to have a beautiful preservation to enjoy for years to come!
